Invasive and/or Exotic Vegetation
Undesirable weeds are not only visually unappealing they can have adverse effects on an aquatic habitat. An over abundance of noxious weeds or algae can quickly out compete native/beneficial vegetation, which in turn will impede natural water flow, affect navigability, and decrease dissolved oxygen levels; all of which can adversely affect fish and wild life populations. Early detection and treatment is key, the following pictures are examples of some of the more common noxious plant species in the south east.
